Post- Graduate Course

A Multidisciplinary approach to Hereditary GI Cancers:

from Bench to Bedside

Florence, 5 July 2017

in conjunction with the biennial scientific meeting of InSiGHT

This clinically oriented course, jointly organized by two UEG member societies, ESDO and ESGE, together with InSiGHT, will take place on July 5, 2017, before the official opening of the 7th InSiGHT biennial scientific meeting.

The main objective of the course is to educate local and international clinicians (trained and in-training gastroenterologists, oncologists, surgeons and geneticists) on diagnosing and managing hereditary gastrointestinal cancers, which account for a growing proportion of all GI malignancies. Importantly, while their prompt recognition is critical for appropriate patient welfare and outcomes, it is also fundamental for providing appropriate screening and surveillance to family members through the employment of new technologies. The course will provide clues and step by step approaches on how to appropriately diagnose, screen, follow-up and treat hereditary GI cancers with updates on guidelines. The course will be highly interactive with case presentations and consensus voting.
